Clinical pathways.

Our rehabilitation programs follow structured clinical pathways with defined phases, objective assessment milestones and evidence-based loading principles. These pathways describe the process of care, not individual patient results.

ACL Reconstruction

ACL Rehabilitation Clinical Pathway

Thrive

Our ACL rehabilitation pathway follows your surgeon's post-operative protocol and is structured around progressive loading and objective strength milestones. Members train three to five times per week with physiotherapist support throughout.

Phases

Phase 1 (Weeks 1-6)

Quadriceps activation, range of motion work and swelling management. All exercise within surgeon protocol.

Phase 2 (Weeks 6-16)

Progressive strength work targeting quadriceps, hamstrings and posterior chain. VALD baseline assessment at week 8.

Phase 3 (Weeks 16-36)

Functional loading and sport-specific movement. Ongoing VALD assessments tracking limb symmetry index against return-to-sport criteria.

Phase 4 (Months 9-12)

Return-to-sport testing using multi-criteria assessment including VALD ForceDecks, hop testing and clinical evaluation. Clearance in coordination with treating surgeon.

Assessment tools

  • VALD ForceDecks (bilateral force and symmetry)
  • Limb symmetry index tracking
  • Hop testing battery
  • Surgeon post-operative protocol milestones

Knee Replacement

Total Knee Replacement Rehabilitation Pathway

Thrive

Our knee replacement pathway begins at approximately two to three weeks post-operatively and is structured around progressive restoration of range of motion, quadriceps strength and functional independence. Programs follow your surgeon's protocol.

Phases

Phase 1 (Weeks 2-6)

Gentle range of motion, quadriceps activation and gait retraining. Clinical assessment at every session.

Phase 2 (Weeks 6-12)

Progressive strength work and functional movement. Targets include 90 degrees knee flexion and unassisted walking.

Phase 3 (Weeks 12-20)

Full functional loading and return to daily activities. Ongoing strength monitoring and program progression.

Assessment tools

  • Goniometry (range of motion)
  • Functional movement assessment
  • VALD ForceDecks (optional, for objective strength data)
  • Surgeon protocol milestones
About this condition

Chronic Back Pain

Chronic Low Back Pain Management Pathway

Restore

Our back pain pathway is built around progressive posterior chain loading, spinal stabilisation and activity tolerance. Programs are designed in line with evidence-based guidelines for chronic musculoskeletal conditions.

Phases

Phase 1 (Weeks 1-4)

Movement assessment, load tolerance testing and early progressive loading within comfortable range. Activity modification guidance.

Phase 2 (Weeks 4-10)

Progressive spinal stability and posterior chain strengthening. Deadlift pattern introduction, hip hinge and core programming.

Phase 3 (Weeks 10-16)

Full progressive loading and return to activity goals. Maintenance programming for ongoing capacity.

Assessment tools

  • Movement screen and load tolerance assessment
  • Pain monitoring (VAS, activity-specific scales)
  • Functional capacity targets

Rotator Cuff Rehabilitation

Shoulder Rehabilitation Clinical Pathway

Restore

Our shoulder rehabilitation pathway targets the rotator cuff, scapular stabilisers and surrounding musculature through progressive loading. The pathway applies to rotator cuff pathology, impingement and post-surgical recovery.

Phases

Phase 1 (Weeks 1-4)

Scapular control and rotator cuff activation. Pain and load monitoring. Activity modification where indicated.

Phase 2 (Weeks 4-10)

Progressive shoulder loading targeting strength symmetry. VALD ForceFrame assessment at week 6.

Phase 3 (Weeks 10-16)

Full range loading, overhead capacity and return to activity goals. Surgical opinion referral pathway if conservative management is insufficient.

Assessment tools

  • VALD ForceFrame (shoulder strength and symmetry)
  • Range of motion assessment
  • Functional task assessment
