Back Pain

Sam Baylis
Back Painback pain sciatica

The worst thing you can do for most back pain is rest. Movement is the treatment. People are scared to load their spine, which is understandable, but progressive loading is exactly what the disc and the surrounding muscles need.

The thinking behind it

Fear-avoidance behaviour is one of the biggest drivers of chronic back pain. Our job is to build confidence under load, progressively. We start conservative — not because the spine can't handle load, but because building belief early is as important as building strength.
